Ballet: Ages 5+
We teach a full R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus at our studio which gives students who are interested and ready, the opportunity to take exams.  Ballet is the technique behind jazz, modern, lyrical/contemporary.  If you want to be successful at those genres, ballet is the key!  Ballet is a structured class that teaches body placement, alignment, and core strength.   Primary and grade classes have an emphasis on creative movement and character work along with the structure and placement ballet which offers.  As of this year, our levels begin at pre-primary and end at Advanced 2.  Keep in mind that Ballet grade levels are not the same as school grades.

Exams are possible for students entering grade 1, after completing pre-primary and primary levels.  Any student interested in taking exams needs to take all of their technique classes ( including pointe for Intermediate and Advanced levels)

Intermediate foundations, Intermediate, Advanced 1 & 2 students must register in at least one technique class in order to take part in a choreography class.  Those enrolled in more technique classes will
progress in their levels more quickly and will be  highlighted in recital numbers .

It is not mandatory to take all the given classes for your ballet level, however,
in order to excel, it is strongly advised .
Jazz: Ages 5+
This is an upbeat style of dance, derived from ballet and African movement.  Jazz dance has a strong core of modified movement, but allows for a lot of play and innovation. Jazz is a very stylized genre of movement and a foundation for many other styles of dance.
(Ages 5-10 will be in a jazz / tap or jazz/hip hop? split. Ages 11+ may start jazz/musical theatre)
Musical Theatre: Ages 11+
Broadway style movement, high energy, and lots of fun!
Traditional jazz technique is the core behind this style.  Song and dance may be done in this class.  All musical theatre classes are  taught as jazz/ musical theatre combination classes.
Tap: Ages 5+
This style of dance teaches rhythm and movement where the dancer creates sounds with their feet. Our tap instructors teach both studio and street tap.  Tap is the percussion of the dance world!
(Ages 5-12 will be in a jazz / tap combination class. Ages 13+ will have a separate tap class)
Modern:  Ages 9+(dancers must have a minimum of two years recent ballet or jazz experience to enter this class)
Derived from ballet, modern takes the technique of ballet and turns it into a grounded, earthy movement where the dancer is able to experiment with the full use of breath and range of motion. Barefoot and free, modern teaches the body to move to its full potential. (Ages 9-12 will be in a modern /lyrical combination class. Ages 13+ will have a separate modern class)
Lyrical / Contemporary: Ages 9+ (dancers must have a minimum of two years recent ballet or jazz experience to enter this class)
Derived from ballet, lyrical takes the technique of ballet and jazz and uses them in an expressive, slower style of dance. (Ages 9-12 will be in a modern /lyrical combination class. Ages 13+ will have a separate lyrical class)
Hip Hop: Ages 8+
A style of dance created in the streets, hip hop is the popular class for most students.  A high energy class and a great workout!  ( All hip hop classes will have an emphasis in hip hop, but will include a basic amount of jazz technique.)
