Deana Slack is the owner and director of “Dancemasters’ Workshops” … a programme designed to help dancers take their skills to a professional level, covering topics such as performance and technique skills, audition skills, nutrition for dancers, injury prevention, identifying career choices and much, much more!
She has been dancing since the age of six and her training includes R.A.D. ballet, lyrical, jazz, musical theatre, song & dance and modern/contemporary, with a basis in tap and hip hop. She has been teaching for the past 20 years and also teaches vocal lessons.
Deana has danced and competed at numerous events throughout her career, including Expo ’86, The Tribute to Rick Hansen and numerous charity events as well as music videos and theatrical productions.
Deana owned and operated her own dance studio where many of her dancers have moved on to professional careers. She has also won numerous awards for outstanding choreography.
Deana performed and toured with the show band “Sixties Mania” travelling throughout Australia, Asia and North America. She then performed with the show on the strip in Las Vegas for several years. She also choreographed and performed in her own show in Las Vegas called “Reflextions“. She has trained with L.A. Dance Force and worked with Paula Abdul.
Dance is Deana’s passion and she enjoys sharing it with others’, encouraging dancers to work hard and follow their dreams.
Deana is also an adjudicator for Virtual dance competition.
