 Deana Slack Deana
began her dance training in Vancouver, BC, at the
age of six . She studied R.A.D. ballet
and completed
examinations up to and including the intermediate level. By the age of
fifteen, Deana was teaching other students at the Tri- Dance Academy in
the lower mainland.
Like our students here, Deana attended many competitions and
festivals, and performed at numerous charity and community events,
including Expo '86. LA Dance Force accepted her in a one
year
intensive training session in 1993.
Her career saw her perform in music videos, including one with Paula Abdul, as well as musical theatre productions. The two years through 1998-2000, Deana owned and operated her own studio. She auditioned, and was accepted into the touring the show band "Sixties Mania" . Her teaching career was postponed while she toured North America and Australia. In 2005, Deana returned to Canada and moved to Salmon Arm. After a short period of time off, she realized that "dance" was in her blood: she had to return to it! Deana is very excited to be teaching and to have the opportunity to share her love of dance with the students at Just for Kicks Dance Studio.. |
